#1 in Germany
Breaking patterns through Zero Waste practices
In
February 2019, 22 participants from four countries of the Danube region
met in Bad Urach and Stuttgart for an interactive and international
seminar on waste prevention. A highlight of the week was when the
Ukrainians, Romanians, Serbs and Germans motivated the public at
Schlossplatz, Stuttgart, to deal creatively with the issue of waste
prevention.
Input and action
The
young changemakers met in Germany to deepen different aspects around
the subject of waste prevention. The team leaders including Laura
Konieszny, a Zero Waste influencer, provided important impulses and
motivational examples. For example, they discussed and experimented how
each one of them could reach a plastic-free life in the everyday
household.
As the countries involved in this project are all located in the Danube region, the concern for water was an important focus. The participants prepared a flash mob that quickly made them get in touch with the public on the Schlossplatz, Stuttgart.

Commitment with impact
The
participants took home many new ideas. They learned from each other’s
experiences and examples and can carry the ideas of the seminar into
their home town. Many of the participants are now involved in the
initiative "Fridays for future"and post about their actions on Instagram
- they inspire each other and become multipliers themselves and inspire
many others.
